Hello Scott. Thanks so much for your comment. Yes, you should be getting some Omega 3 through chewing the granola and some of the flax seeds are broken down during production. We use whole flax seeds in order to maintain the product’s freshness without artificial preservatives. Cheers, Heather, Brand Ambassador, Hemp Plus Granola lover

I bought this for the hemp nutrition omeganess as no other cereal has hemp in it that I know of. I would really like this product gluten free, without cane sugar, and less expensive if possible. Could you use rolled buckwheat flakes instead or certified gluten free oats? Bob’s Red Mill makes those. Id really rather have buckwheat though. perhaps a new variety? A hemp pumpkin buckwheat granola with ginger? Also, I am on Weight Watchers and this cereal is very high in calories and fat. Coudl you either up the fiber or lower the sugar or both? Have you ever considered a partnership with WW to get points values displayed on the front on your boxes so gluten free dieters can see or any weight conscious health conscious person can know. Can you also use another oil than soy??? Many people are allergic to soy including me. Could you use flax, hemp, grapeseed or canola or best maybe safflower oil? I know many of the previous oils its bad to heat them. Could you skip the evaporated cane juice and keep the molasses maybe? I think that woudl be best. Others have good sugar alternative ideas here, I also care about my teeth. Fillings and crowns are exensive and plaque and cavities are bad.

I like this comment it’s very thorough… I don’t mind the rolled oats but I totally agree with the need to reduce the sugars (maybe to around 5g..) and using healthier oil…
Also, as a comment below stated, it is important for me to have the flax seeds crushed… maybe you can get your oil content from there and thereby reducing the need to use any other oil for baking.
Aw geez maybe I’ll just make my own… LOL

I notice many small seeds in your Hemp Plus Granola. I assume that these are flax seeds. I have read and heard that the Omega-3 ALA’s in flax seeds are not readily absorbed into the body unless the seeds have been crushed. Whole seeds are said to pass undigested through the intestinal tract. Are the flax seeds in your “*.* Plus” Granolas crushed? If not, while the cereal may CONTAIN the Omega-3’s, we may not be actually GETTING them.

When I think of hemp, I think weed and its distinctive aroma..This cereal tastes nothing like marijuana. It’s really good! It has a good crunch, and the flavor with almond milk is great. But do the flax seed look like little bugs??

Hi RaMagi, thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We are happy to hear that you love our Hemp Plus® Granola! Hemp seed is a very nutritious ingredient with up to 35% protein and all 9 amino acids. They are high in unsaturated fats – the good fats – including the omega-3 fatty acids. Hulled hempseed is not to be confused with marijuana, they actually come from two different types of plants. The flaxseeds are small golden brown seeds that are similar in shape and size to sesame seeds. I hope this helps! Best, Kyla, Brand Ambassador, Gorilla Munch Addict

(love those ) Also wondering if you could make a package using Stevia and Xylitol as sweetners ; kinda like a package for those looking for a healthy teeth cereal??? or maybe just use maple syrup as sweetener or honey or both?? just an idea…… please don’t change a thing on the original though! I would agree. I would feel much more confident eating this granola if it was a little bit lighter on the cane sugar. However, I enjoy the sweetness, and think that if sugar was reduced, the granola would taste like it is missing something. This is why I agree with the above poster, that something such as Stevia would be a welcome addition. Even half cane sugar and half Stevia would be nice.
Thanks for a great product, it truly is delicious!

I purchased the Hemp Plus because I noted Hemp has all essential aminos, which is good, because I’m always looking for high quality sources of protein. However, the cereal looks like it’s loaded with flax seed, not hemp. What is the approximate percentage of hemp seed in this product?

Hey Chris, hemp seed is a very nutritious ingredient and is high in unsaturated fats – the good fats, including omega-3s. They also contain a wide variety of vitamins & minerals! We have had our hemp products tested by two independent labs to determine the level of THC in the food, and based on this scientific testing we are able to report finding no detectable THC in our foods. No. You would have to consume the female plant (Marijuana). This is the male plant which has no THC. THC is what would show up on a drug test.

Hemp seeds are produced by the female hemp/marijuana plant only. Actually, with any sexed plants on the Earth, seeds are always produced by the female plant. “Marijuana” as you call it, is a specific species of plant. So no, you are incorrect - when eating hemp foods, you are in fact eating Marijuana. (Hemp = Marijuana) THC is in both male and female plants, as well as commercial hemp of both sexes. But supposedly, hemp seeds/oil contain only trace amounts of cannabinoids, including Delta-9-THC, (which is just THC.) Commercial hemp used for paper, cordage, and food is supposed to contain much lower amounts of THC and other cannabinoids than marijuana grown for their sweet, relaxing, potent flowers and resin. Our Declaration of Independence, as well as our Constitution was printed on paper made form marijuana/hemp. William Randolph Hurst campaigned with help from the government in the 1920s to make hemp/marijuana illegal, because it was putting him out of business since he had a monopoly on the tree-paper industry. The US Gov was making plenty of money with Hurst on this, and that is why marijuana is illegal in the US today. An acre of marijuana will produce 8 times more paper than an acre of trees, even if used over and over again, for eternity. I am concerned with hemp seed food causing a positive drug screen result as well. I am surprised the company reps haven’t responded to any of our questions. You’d think they make enough money to want to give some feedback on their product line’s web page.

Even though no THC or cannabinoids are found in the food/seeds themselves, people can test positive for THC in standard urine tests as well as GC/MS lab tests. For reference, check out

Hi Frank, I just talked to my friends at the Hemp Industry Association and they told me about a recent study that shows that trace THC in hemp foods has been reduced and that eating hemp foods “should not be considered as a realistic cause for a positive urine analysis result.” (Final sentence of Results and Discussion, pp. 431)

Thank you so very much, Kylie. It looks as if that other study is a few years old and that hemp foods have been regulated more and more lately, in regards to lesser amount of trace cannabinoids.
The study you referenced seems very up to date and it looks like there isn’t much concern regarding involuntary intoxication or positive results from drug screens. I stand corrected :-)
Now I can get back to eating this bag of hemp granola.

So i am curious, is the hemp granola vegan or just vegetarian. we noticed the vegan markings on alot of the boxes but not the hemp granola. if it is not vegan, what ingredients make it so, and how come, lol, as it is a major source of protein for me, hemp in general that is. and most vegans agree. but love the products and keep finding more and more please keep up the good work and we spread the knowledge of your company by word of mouth and many friends are trying and loving. thank you for your hard loving healthy work. word, peace. sincerely,

My children enjoy your Hemp Plus cereal, but with 10 grams of sugar per serving, it’s almost as bad as the commercial cereals aimed at kids. My one daughter even finds it a bit too sweet and has to switch to another cereal every once in a while. My question is, why in a natural, healthy brand/type of cereal is there so much sugar?
Thanks.

I am writing to you because I LOVE the Hemp Plus & Pumpkin Granolas! I've had a couple other cereals of yours before, but these two are by far my favorite. (I guess I'm just a granola girl!) I recently discovered the Hemp Plus Granola, catching one of the local grocers on one of those "off" days where they actually stock something a consumer would REALLY want if only they could ever find it on the shelves! (I went to two different grocery stores last night: no dice. Oh, well. :) ) Anyway, the granolas are delicious; I wanted to offer my compliments & gratitude. :)
